Case Study: Automation in the airline cockpit at NASA

At the Car HMI conference in Berlin Stephen M. Casner from NASA presented his answers to the question if cars and drivers are ready for automated driving. At this point he mentioned aspects like rising system complexity and shorter time frames of driving that may have a huge impact on the driver. The research psychologist included lessons learned in aviation to formulate challenges to be overcome in this context.
